Fees

Toronto Aikikai is a membership based dojo with several membership categories. A member is considered to be in the Child category if 12 years old and under, in the Youth category if 19 years old and under, in the Student category if not working and enrolled on a full time basis in an academic institution, and in the Adult category otherwise.

Fees for each membership category depend on the length of enrollment and on whether practicing Aikido, Iaido, Weapons or a combination of arts. The monthly fees for membership and instruction at Toronto Aikikai, including HST, are as follows:

Fees are due and payable within the first week of the month.

Discounts

Discounts with respect to the monthly fees apply if paying several (3, 6, 9 or 12) months in advance.
A further discount applies for additional family members
An extra discount applies if taking a combination of arts, e.g. Aikido and Iaido or Weapons and Iaido.

Additional Notes

Prospective new members may observe any of our classes and may try a Beginners Aikido class, a Iaido class or a Weapons class without cost or obligation.
Dojo members are entitled and encouraged to attend any and as many classes as they like in their membership category, independently of skill level or rank.
The dojo does not offer long-term contracts. Members may cancel or put their membership on hold at any time.
Upon joining the dojo, new members are required to register for a period of 3 months or longer.
A one time initiation fee of $25 applies to all new members registering for a 3 month period. This fee is waived if registering for 6, 9 or 12 months. Monthly plans, as well as any of the other multi-month payment options are allowed after the completion of the initial 3 month period.
Fees are due the first week of the month, are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable and include HST.
Memberships can be put on hold in one or more monthly blocks if you inform us in advance you will be away. Time credit will apply for any pre-paid period. If you are away and you don’t inform us, your membership fees will continue to run as if you were practicing. After 2 or more months without fees payment your membership will be considered terminated and a $25 membership re-instatement fee will apply upon rejoining.
Visitors are always welcome. The daily mat fee for visitors is $25 and covers all classes offered the day of the visit. We also offer a package of 10 day visits at a discount price of $200. There is no expiration date for this package and the visits can be used at any time.
